We are sad to announce, our dad, husband, friend, Alfred James Purdie (Freddie) 87, passed away peacefully, Sunday, August 24, 2025, with his wife, Julie Trimble-Purdie at his side. Freddie was born on the 20th of January 1938 in Midcalder Scotland to James and Agnes (Cormack)Purdie. He has two daughters, Angela Campbell Purdie and Jennifer Anne Purdie and one grandson whom he was exceptionally proud of, James Alexander Qualters(Katelyn Connor Qualters.)

He married his wife Julie Trimble on May 25, 2015, and was embraced by her parents, Virgil Dean and Betty Shields, brother-in-law Rick Shields (Lori) and Julies' children, Brandie Martindale, Isacc Trimble (Nicole), and Carl Eli Trimble.
He is survived in Scotland by his sisters, Elizabeth McClennan (Ian), Kathleen Kelly (Tam) and Margaret Shoolbraid (Ian), and his youngest brother James (Babs), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert (Irene), and Ronald (Ina) and. Julie's sister- Penny.  Freddie didn't want ceremonies or a funeral; he just wanted to return to his beloved Scotland. He'll be home soon.
