Alice Lois Pursell, 83, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on May 19, 2025, in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Born on June 11, 1941, in Owen County to Clovis and Alice (Bixler) Smith, Alice was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Alice married Sylvester (BigBoy) Pursell on June 16, 1961, and together they raised three children: LuAnn (Annie) Timberlake of Lebanon, Indiana; Diana Pursell of Crawfordsville, Indiana; and Jeffery (Liz) Pursell of Jacksonville, Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren Maria (Josh) Hesler, Craig Clements, Chad Pursell, and Cory Baily, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her brothers Lowell and Lyman Smith, her sister Patricia Stapert, and her nephews Fredrick Jennings and Ted Dwigans Jr.

Alice was a housekeeper by trade, where some of her clients became like extended family. However, her favorite role was being 'Nan' to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an amazing example of strength, determination, and love to all those who knew her and will be deeply missed by all the lives she touched along the way.

Cremation has been chosen, but a celebration of life will be held on June 27th, 2025, from 4pm-7pm at Rock Point Church in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
