In Loving Memory of Betty Ferguson It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Betty Ferguson on October 26, 2026, at Stonecroft Health Campus. Born on April 21, 1932, in Clinton, Indiana, Betty was a beacon of love, warmth, and spirited opinions that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Betty was the beloved daughter of Fred and Marguerite Ricauda, who preceded her in death, along with her cherished grandson, Michael Evans. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her daughters, Shelley Sallee (Phil) and Michelle Tisdell (Gene), her adored grandchildren Evan (Kathryn), Ethan Sallee (Mary), Justin Evans (Jessica), and Cara Evans, as well as her precious great-grandchildren, Toby and Savannah Evans, Lilith Sarsfield, Enzo Sallee, Willow Sarsfield, and Daniel Sallee. Family was the cornerstone of Betty's life. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones, sharing her Italian heritage through cherished traditions like making Bagna Cauda, a dish that brought family and friends together in joyous gatherings. Her love for her family was rivaled only by her affection for her feline companions, who, like all creatures she encountered, were drawn to her gentle spirit and infectious warmth. Betty was known for her vibrant personality, often accentuated by her signature red lipstick, bright clothing and jewelry, a testament to her bold and unapologetic approach to life. Betty possessed a strong sense of civic duty, never hesitating to voice her opinions on the state of the nation and always ensuring her voice was heard at the ballot box. Her compassion extended beyond her family and friends; she was deeply concerned about the well-being of the homeless in her community and was always asking how she could help them. Her kind heart and empathetic nature left a lasting impact on all who knew her. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the Providers at HealthNet Bloomington Health Center for their exceptional care, the compassionate staff at Stonecroft Health Campus for their kindness and love during Betty's final months, and SouthernCare Hospice for their unwavering support in her last days. In honoring Betty's memory, donations can be made to the HealthNet Bloomington Health Center, the Bloomington HealthNet Medical Street Outreach Team, or a charity of your choice. Betty's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and kindness. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind, a reminder of a life well-lived and a heart well-loved.
