Charlene Kaye Rose, aged seventy-eight, peacefully passed away at her home in Martinsville, Indiana, on October 19, 2025. Born on November 18, 1946, in St Helena, California, to Martin Lushbough, D.O., and Margery Fern Wright, Charlene was a beloved sister to Ramona Rae Walker.

Charlene excelled academically, graduating as valedictorian from North Liberty High School in 1965. She pursued higher education at DePauw University and Purdue University, earning her B.S. in 1969 and M.S. in 1970 in Social Psychology. During her college years, she married Larry J. Kane in 1966, with whom she had two daughters, Sonya Marie and Holly Lea.

After her divorce in 1995, Charlene settled in Martinsville, Indiana, where she married Richard Rose in 1996. A devoted member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Charlene was known for her love of gardening, competitive games, bible study, and teaching piano. She cherished nature hikes and was a doting grandmother to her four grandchildren.

Charlene is survived by her husband Richard William Arnold Rose, her daughters Sonya Marie Fickett and Holly Lea Andrianarijaona, her grandchildren, her sister Ramona Rae Walker, and her niece Stacy Louise Thompson. She was predeceased by her parents and step-parents.

A memorial service will be held on November 8, 2025, at 3:30 pm at the Spencer Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Spencer, Indiana.
