“Billy” Boyer

Charles W. "Billy" Boyer, 50 of Ellettsville, Indiana, died at IU Health Bloomington Hospital on Friday, March 26, 2021. Billy was the son of William "Bill" Levon and Carol Sue (Cobb) Boyer. He was born August 7, 1970 in Bloomington, Indiana. Billy graduated from Community Christian School in 1988. He worked as a phlebotomist at Bloomington Hospital, Internal Medicine and Associates, and Southern Indiana Physicians IU Health.
Billy loved sports. From a young man playing basketball with his friends at the Westside (Banneker) Center to playing softball as an adult. He became an umpire for softball and worked for Bloomington Parks and Recreation. Billy also became a licensed Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) official for Basketball and Football.
Billy had been sick for a while and unable to work and provide for his family. Being a hard worker his whole life, this took a toll on him both physically and emotionally.
Billy was preceded in death by his father, William "Bill" Levon Boyer; two half brothers, Bobby Edgar Boyer and William Levon Boyer Jr.; a daughter, Alexis Ann Boyer (mother- Angie Hughbanks) and both sets of grandparents.
Billy is survived by his wife, Torie (Streepy) Boyer; mother, Carol Sue (Cobb) Boyer; daughters, Brenna LeAnne Boyer and Becca Lynne Boyer (mother- Heather Branaman); sons, Charles William Ross Boyer and Michael Joseph Trey Boyer (mother- Carie Bender); half brother, Richard Lee (Rosie) Boyer; half sisters, Deanna (Dan) Smith, Debbie Savage, and Vicky Cantrell.
There will be a Celebration of Life service 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 8th, 2021 at the Pentecostal Faith Assembly, 1301 West 11th Street, Bloomington, Indiana 47404.
Doors will open at 10:00 a.m. for visitation prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family would be appreciated.
