Dakota passed at his home in the early morning hours on January 13th, 2026.

Dakota had a big heart and loved to make people smile. He had an amazing family of friends that helped him get by every day. Some of which have been friends since early childhood. He also enjoyed gaming, his job at Smoking Jacks and making the people around him happy. He was an amazing son, brother, friend and individual. He will be missed dearly.

Dakota was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bonnie and Randy Banks, his paternal grandparents, Frank and Roberta Kent, his father, Frankie Kent and his Aunt, Brandy Taylor.

Dakota is survived in life by his mother and stepfather, Crystal and Rory Hancock, his sister, Destynee Kent, his stepmother, Trisha Kent, his step siblings, Tristan, Kailin, Ceric and Raziya, his Aunts, Michelle and Rachel, his Uncle Justin and several cousins, great aunts and great uncles.

The family will hold a private Ceremony at a later time.
