Born June 28, 1974, in San Diego, David Jeffrey "Jeff" Blevens passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 in Bloomington, In. He is survived by his mother, Nancy A. Blevens; sister, Jennifer K. Rich and his nephews, Hayden M. Rich and Zander G. Rich. He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald D. Blevens.

Jeff graduated high school from Bedford North Lawrence in 1992 and went on to become a skilled laborer for Indiana Limestone. He later worked on the 1-69 project through Bloomington and fell in love with building bridges.

He was a man of many talents from playing guitar, working on vehicles, to having a vast "handyman" knowledge. He frequently joked about his fictitious business name, DJ's Dis & Dats Fabrications and Combobulations. He was always genuinely willing to lend a hand to those people in his life or anyone in need that crossed his path. Jeff was an intelligent, kind and loving soul.

In 2016, a life altering accident left him with permanent disabilities that challenged him daily. All who knew Jeff can attest to his independence and sheer stubbornness to not be a victim of circumstance. Although he had setbacks, he never gave up. While participating in a program to help him understand and manage his traumatic brain injury, he enrolled in a vocational rehabilitation program through Ivy Tech Bloomington to become a certified mechanic. Through his hard work and tenacity, he made the Dean's List.

An informal memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Day & Carter Mortuary located at 1133 Lincoln Ave. in Bedford, In. from 1pm -- 4pm.
