David "Dave" Michael Gray, 71, of Bloomington, passed away on April 11, 2025 peacefully in his
home. He was born on July 28, 1953 in Bloomington, Indiana; the son of Samuel "Sam" and
Lois (Barger) Gray.
David graduated from University High School in 1972. On October 15, 1977 he got married and
had a successful marriage of 47 years. He later went on to work for the Department of Natural
Resources (DNR), GoExpress Transportation, and Signature Limousine.
David was preceded in death by his parents Lois (Barger) Gray and Samuel "Sam" Gray; two
brothers, Robert "Bob" Gray and Mark Gray; maternal grandparents, James Barger and Dora
(Livingston) Barger; paternal grandparents, Bertha (Jones) Gray and Lester Gray; and
son-in-law, Kyle Martincic.
He was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing various sports
with his grandson, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He created many
memories while enjoying family vacation, camping with his grandchildren, and embarking on an
annual grandparent and cousin trip.
David is survived by his wife Virginia "Jenny" (O'Malley) Gray of Bloomington; two daughters,
Angela (Gray) Martincic of Bloomington and Adrian (Gray) Abernathy of Marion, Illinois;
son-in-law, Brandon Abernathy of Marion, Illinois; three grandchildren; Lydia Adair-Martincic of
Bloomington, Brayton Adair of Bloomington, and Gavin Abernathy of Marion, Illinois; and
several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He also leaves many other friends who will sadly miss
him.
Visitation and funeral will be held on Wednesday April 16th, 2025. The visitation will be held
from 4-6pm and the service following starting at 6pm. Both will be held at New Life Pentecostal
Church in Harrodsburg, Indiana.
