David Michael Ruetschlin was born an old man on September 10th, 1954 and shuffled off his mortal coil on March 18th, 2022. During his time on earth he was an adventurer, a fabulist, an editor, and a father. His younger years were full of fodder for stories as he aged including hitchhiking across much of the country, erstwhile summers spent working in Amish country, and an encounter with a hammerhead shark. He spent his life reading everything he could, watching every movie at least twice, and engaging everyone he met in his preferred discussion topic of the moment. His proudest accomplishment was his children and grandchildren, and he believed he had no better purpose than their existence. If you met him you were likely to hear a story about one or many, and he found their exploits endlessly entertaining.

David is survived by his daughters, Jessica, Catherine, and Sara; son Patrick; and his 5 grandchildren, Mina, Malachi, Solomon, Clara, and Dash. In lieu of prayers or donations please sit down with a book and a good glass of bourbon or a terrible beer and know he would have wanted it that way.
