Duane James Schau, born on September 23, 1954, died suddenly of cardiac arrest on August 19, 2021 at age 66. He was born in Hammond, Indiana to James "Pete" Schau and Marion (Fleener) Schau, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.

Duane is survived by his life partner and best friend, Natalia (Browar) Schau; his beloved daughter, Kristina; his dear son, Adam and his wife, Liska Radachi, and their baby, Owen. He is also survived by sister, Sheryl (Schau) Dreelan; and her sons, T.J., Aidan and Steven; sister, Pamela (Schau) Rippe; her husband, Rich and their sons, Patrick and Robert Rippe; cousins, Laura (Fleener) Fanta and husband Jim; Leslie Fleener and partner, John; cousin, Judy Voss and many extended family members and in-laws.

Duane was a man of many talents: a skilled craftsman, superb problem-solving information technology specialist, a friendly neighbor and promoter of natural gardens. He will be missed dearly and remembered as an enthusiastic, kind and sweet human being, a mentor, a marvelous colleague and a dedicated husband and father.
