Jeffrey Scott Litten, 68, of Elletsville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, after a 19-year battle with cancer. He was born on January 14, 1957, in Bloomington, Indiana, to John Raymond and Helen Suzanne (Pitts) Litten of Elletsville. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jeff is survived by his two children, Casey Beckman (Josh Beckman) and Corey Litten (Emily Litten); his grandchildren, Eleanor, Hazel, Andi, and Alix; his brother Chuck and niece Makisha; his brother Jimmy (Mary Joe) and their children, Katie and Tyler; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Jeff graduated from Edgewood High School in 1975. Upon graduation, he fell in love with softball and played for many years at the Cascade diamonds, where he formed many lasting friendships. He began working for Simm's Painting in Bloomington, where he perfected his craft. Eventually, he started his own business with a couple of partners, Paintmaster Inc. He took great pride in his work, which helped him build even more lasting relationships and allowed him to paint many memorable projects he spoke of for years. Among them were the fish atop the Bloomington Courthouse, Bill Cook's farm on the Ohio River, most of Bill's buildings, houses, and offices, and seemingly half of Bloomington before it was all said and done. Jeff could paint anything—from school buses to water towers, bridges, buildings, and everything in between.

In his middle years, Jeff found a love and passion for golf, fishing, and the outdoors. He spent many years playing golf at Rolling Meadows in  spencer, where he formed even more lifelong friendships.

Once the grandchildren started coming, Jeff dropped everything and focused all of his love and attention on them. Never telling them no, he was always there—loving, playing, and being radical with them. He loved them dearly.

Jeff was known for his passion, love, care, and his mustache. He shaved it only three times in his entire life and, up until his passing, made sure it always looked good. He never met a stranger and was always up for a conversation. A true helper, Jeff would do anything for others, often at his own sacrifice.

Jeff was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2006 and battled it to the end. Around that time, he found God and continued to give his life to the Lord until his passing. In the final weeks of his life, he said, "Either side I wake up on, I win." Jeff won many things in life—from poker games to golf scrambles to slot machines—but ultimately, he won the hearts of his children and grandchildren and will be sorely missed.

At this time, the family will not be hosting services, with plans to follow in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a cancer  organization of your choice in Jeff's name.
