Jesse O. Whitt, 73, of Springville, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 2, 2021 at his daughter's home after a prolonged illness. He was the widower of Vicky Kay (West) Whitt. They shared 33 years of loving marriage together.

Born in San Diego, California, Jess was the son of Isabel Pierre (Severance) and Jesse Joseph Whitt. He attended Mar Vista High School. He was a master carpenter and an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and sharing a good campfire. He was a member of the Living Lights Ministries in Ridgeport, Indiana.

Jess is survived by his daughter, Christine (Whitt) and her husband Dirk Freeman of Bloomington, Indiana; and their children, Lydia, Claire, and Nola; his sister, Katharine (Michael) Hummel of Lilian, Alabama and brother, James (Nancy) Whitt of Templeton, California. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brothers, William Whitt and John Whitt.

The family would like to thank Indiana University Health Hospice staff who helped take great care of him.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. January 8, 2022 at Living Lights Ministries, Ridgeport, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Living Lights Ministries.

My Uncle Jess was one of a kind man. He was a quiet man by nature , very kind and a mellow soul. Loved a good laugh and made you laugh uncontrollably with his stories . There for you ,when you asked ,especially when it came to carpentry work .

I'm going to miss him , it will definitely be another hole in my heart.

So glad you are in Heaven with Aunt Vicky your true love .
