IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kevin Lee
Martindale
October 2, 1958 – February 10, 2025
Kevin Lee Martindale, 66, passed away on February 10, 2025. He was born in Bloomington on October 2, 1958 to Ted F. Martindale and Sharon Lou McCameron-Martindale. He was the second of three boys, with Ted the oldest and Chris the youngest. There was also a younger sister, Lynne Anne, who died in infancy. All family members preceded him in death except for Chris.
Kevin went to Bloomington High School North, graduating in 1976. He worked at the General Motors plant in Indianapolis for several years before going to Indiana University in 1980. After graduation, he followed a college friend to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and put down roots for many years. He worked for St. John's Medical Center by day and in his off hours he hunted and cowboyed and camped out in the Grand Tetons. It was quite a life. He got to travel around the west during that time, seeing all the great sites and being out in nature, but a lifetime of smoking finally caught up to him and cut those days short. He returned to Bloomington and worked for a time at Centerstone and Monroe Hospital until he couldn't anymore. Somehow he made it through Covid unscathed and several years on top of that, and I am grateful for the extra time we had, what there was of it. Wherever he is now, I hope there are lots of dogs and horses and clean mountain air…
There will be no services for Kevin, but if you knew him please leave thoughts and remembrances on the IndianaGreenBurials.com website (you can see our mom's obituary there too, a few years back). And if you'd like to do one thing in Kevin's memory, I would encourage you to stop smoking or help a friend or family member who does. It is hard to watch what a smoker has to go through in the end, and it certainly plays hell with those left behind.
