Maurice Imhoof, 91, of Nashville, died at home on August 25, 2021 after a long illness. The son of Charles and Gladys Imhoof, he grew up on a farm near Denver, Indiana. He was educated at Denver and Jefferson Township School in Mexico, Indiana, now both North Miami School.

Mr. Imhoof was an international educator specializing in English education. After receiving B.S. and M.A. degrees from Ball State University, he taught for two years in the U.S. Army as a Troop Information and Education Specialist and for two years at Huntington, Indiana high school.

After completing his Ed.D. at Teachers College, Columbia University he moved with his wife, Marilynne, to Kabul, Afghanistan to work on a new English program. Both of his children were born there. He taught at both Ball State and Indiana Universities as well as the American University in Cairo, Egypt. Later, as an educational consultant, he developed and operated English radio language programs in over 40 countries, including an in-country position in Lesotho.

Mr. Imhoof was predeceased by his wife, Marilynne; and son, Chad; as well as his parents, Charles and Gladys Imhoof; his brothers, Merrill and Max Imhoof; and his sister, Janice Ruse. He is survived by his daughter, Erika Imhoof (Nashville); sister-in-law Judith Wagley (Muncie) and many nieces and nephews.
