IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pamela Jane
Mccullough Ladd
June 19, 1950 – November 30, 2023
Pamela Jane McCullough Ladd, 73, of Bloomington, Indiana died peacefully at IU Health Bloomington Hospital on November 30, 2023. Pamela was a vital part of the Bloomington small business community as owner of Blast Off Balloons since 1979. She was a partner with her husband, Norm Ladd, and her son, Simon Ladd in Ladd Rentals. Pamela earned a Doctor of Ministry degree and was a life coach and an entertaining public speaker who often presented for groups ranging from the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce to various medical groups.
Pamela was born July 19, 1950 to the late Harold and Etta McCullough whom Pamela credited with giving her the roots and wings that allowed her to be a fearless world traveler, business leader, and loving wife and mother.
Pamela met her late husband and life partner, Norm, in the summer of 1970 and they married April 23, 1972. They had a magical marriage. Pamela and Norm had two children; Simon Ladd (Jennifer) and Joy Ladd McMahon (Patrick) whom they raised to be productive, kind, and contributing members of their communities with committed marriages and wonderful children. Pamela doted on her five grandchildren; Eva and Eli Ladd and Miles, Henry, and Betsy McMahan.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, Pamela is survived by her brothers, Wayne and Dr. Robert McCullough (Dot) and numerous nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jeanie.
Pamela will be remembered by her many friends and colleagues as warm, witty, and knowledgeable in many areas. She was interested in many different aspects of life and her friends reflected those interests. She will be greatly missed by the members of the book club she launched in 2002, her hiking friends, her travel group, the friends she made in college, the international students she and Norm welcomed into their home, her many friends from Toastmasters, and her coaching clients. Pamela never met a stranger and she had an inner light that glowed outwards to include all that she met.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 6, at 11:00 in White Oak Cemetery at 1200 W. 7th St. There will be a reception immediately following at the Moose Lodge at 840 S. Cory Lane. Flowers can be sent to Simon and Jen Ladd at 321 S Lori Lane Bloomington, IN 4740
