Patricia (Patty) Irene (Hawkins) Mills, 70, of Indianapolis Indiana, passed away on Friday January 17th 2025 at 8:26am at IU Health Bloomington Hospital surrounded by her loved ones, after a brief fight with Leukemia. Patty was a beloved Mom, Mamaw, and friend. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Patty was born on July 3, 1954 to Claude and Bernice Hawkins. Patty was one of eight siblings. Patty was married for 40 years to Alan R. Mills and together they raised six children. Patty enjoyed puzzles, bingo, music, her beloved dog Bear and spending time with her grandchildren. Patty is survived by her children; Timothy (Rhonda) Mills of Bloomington, Alan R. (Roxy) Mills, of Texas, Amy (Lee) Freeman of Spencer, Bradley Mills, of Bloomington, Joshua (Heather) Gardner of Bloomfield, and Jessica (Mark) Mooney of Bloomington. Patty is also survived by her many grandchildren and her best friend of 45 years, Billie Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alan, parents Claude and Bernice, 7 siblings, and granddaughter Samantha Brewer. The family would like to thank the many nurses and doctors at IU Health Bloomington for their unwavering love and care.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations of food and toys be made in her name to Bloomington Animal Shelter at 3410 S. Walnut St. Bloomington, IN 47401.
