Richard Gaston of Poland, Indiana passed away at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital on Monday, June 15, 2020 at age 64. He was born in Minter City, Mississippi to Charlie and Beatrice Gaston. He moved with his family to Detroit, Michigan as a young teen. In 1976 he married Dianne Hinton Gaston and later moved to Cataract, Indiana. Four children resulted from this union: Angela Gaston (Brad App), Monrovia, Beatrice (Brett) Nicholson, Monrovia, Cheyenne Gaston, Poland, and Elanna Gaston, Poland.

Richard is survived by his wife and children; siblings, Rufus (Julie) Gaston, Cloverdale, and Marlynn Gaston-Brousard, Greencastle; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by both parents; sisters, Cora Lee Russell and Arinter Wesley; and his brother, Henry Jackson.

Richard worked in meat processing and construction, and loved having long conversations with friends and family. There will be no funeral services but a memorial service with family and friends will be announced at a later date.
