Sara Shrivastav, 41, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away on January 12, 2026. Born in Euclid, Ohio, Sara grew up in Painesville, where she developed the warmth and compassion that touched everyone who knew her.
Sara was an amazing mother and wife who brought joy and light to her family's life. She treasured holidays and was the life of any celebration, filling every gathering with laughter and love. An animal lover with an adventurous spirit, she delighted in exploring new cities and had a particular passion for watching ballet. Her zest for life and genuine care for others made her unforgettable to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
As a mother of a child with autism, Sara's personal journey inspired her professional calling. She studied Applied Behavior Analysis at Ball State University and became a board-certified behavior analyst, founding Teach and Play ABA to create a nurturing environment where children could learn through play in a preschool setting. She built the kind of place she would have wanted for her own child—one that truly supported both children and their families. Her dedication transformed countless lives.
Sara is survived by her husband, Rahul Shrivastav, whom she married in Orlando in 2002; her son, Raj Shrivastav; her daughter, Mira Shrivastav; her father, Allan Ash; her mother, Karen Ash; her sister, Stephanie Ash; her brother, David Ash; her grandmother, Nancy Edwards; Cocoa and Cletus her dogs, and Pumpkin, her cat.
