Stephen Grant Wisher

July 30, 1954 – October 27, 2026

Stephen Grant Wisher, affectionately known as "Double E," passed away at his home on October 27, 2026, at the age of 72.

Born on July 30, 1954, in Los Angeles, California, Stephen was the son of the late Roland Clayton Wisher and Phyllis Jean (Wilkins) Wisher. He made his home in southern Indiana, where he built a life filled with music, friendship, and family.

A talented musician, Stephen played guitar and other stringed instruments and had a lifelong passion for music. He performed popular covers and original songs with his band, Double E, at venues throughout the Bloomington area. He was deeply involved in the Bloomington Singer-Songwriter Showcase, which provided a platform for many up-and-coming local performers. As both an emcee and organizer, he helped bring musicians and audiences together week after week, while also regularly taking the stage himself. His commitment to the showcase reflected not only his love of performing but also his dedication to Bloomington's local music community.

Beyond music, Stephen was a talented participant in shooting competitions through the Elks, an activity he enjoyed and took pride in. He regularly supported events at the club, advocated for firearm safety, and often took home prizes from shooting matches.

Stephen was also known for his sense of humor and his Hawaiian shirts. A familiar face at Upland Brewing Company in Bloomington, he enjoyed good company and connecting with friends. Those who knew him will remember his music, laughter, and unmistakable style.

Professionally, Stephen spent 40 years in sales, marketing, and technical support with HILEVEL Technologies. He took great pride in his work and genuinely loved what he did. He especially enjoyed the demonstrations, trade shows, and opportunities to share his knowledge and connect with others throughout his career. He held Bjorn and Gloria, the proprietors of HILEVEL Technologies, in especially high regard.

Stephen is survived by his sons, Stephen Wisher II (Dawn) and Christopher Wisher; his granddaughters, Addison and Grayson Wisher; and his sisters, Pamela (Rick) Sember and Karen Julien, along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He is also remembered by his former wife and mother of his sons, Dianna Attkisson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Phyllis Wisher.

In keeping with Stephen's wishes, cremation arrangements are being made. A celebration of Stephen's life is being planned for family and friends, with details to be shared in the coming days.

Stephen's music, humor, and the memories he created will live on through the people who knew and loved him.
