Vera Glodyne (Deanie) Parrish, 89, of Spencer, Indiana, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on August 11, 2025, at IU Health Hospice House, surrounded by the love of her family—just two days shy of her 90th birthday.

Born at home in Ellettsville, Indiana, on August 13, 1935, Vera was the daughter of William D. and Helen D. (Reynolds) Wampler, who preceded her in death. She grew up in Ellettsville and was a proud 1953 graduate of Ellettsville High School. Vera was blessed with one sister, Carolyn Rose Chestnut, and one brother, Norman G. Wampler, who both preceded her in death.

She married the love of her life, Robert D. Parrish, and together they shared 60 years of marriage filled with faith, laughter, and devotion before Robert's passing. Their union was blessed with three daughters: Debra Parrish, Brenda Ruble, and Lisa (Andy) Minnick. Vera's love extended to her five grandchildren—Sarah (Joseph) Sheese, Levi (Laura) Minnick, Morgan (James) Owens, Jordan (Rubie) Minnick, and Alex (Christi) Buker—and to her ten cherished great-grandchildren.

A longtime resident of Spencer, Vera was a faithful member of Lifeway Baptist Church in Ellettsville. Before her health declined, she was an avid walker, at one point walking six miles a day. She loved the Lord, her family, nature, animals, her home, music and daisies. Her smile was radiant and enduring, a reflection of the kindness and warmth she extended to everyone she met. She had a gift for making people feel loved and valued.

Vera is now reunited in the presence of her Heavenly Father with her parents; her beloved husband, Robert; her sister, Carolyn Rose; her brother, Norman; and her son-in-law, David Ruble.

Graveside services will be held Monday, August 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Chambersville Cemetery, with Pastor Steve Von Bokern of Lifeway Baptist Church officiating. Green Burials is honored to assist the family with arrangements.

Vera's life was a testament to faith, family, and love—a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
