Verna May Wilkerson died Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital. Born May 3, 1957, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Verna was a graduate of North Adams High School and attended 2 years of college at Union College.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Peggy Wilkerson. She is survived by her son, Chris Simmons and brother Joseph and sister Jerry Wilkerson. She worked for Bloomington Public Schools first as an assistant for disabled children and then as a cafeteria worker. Verna's wishes were to be cremated. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
